Wool Impact
Transformation Roadmap
The New Zealand wool sector is an iconic part of New Zealand’s rural identity and has supported vibrant rural communities over many farming generations. Increased competition from synthetic fibres has, amongst other factors, reduced demand for strong wool and led to a contraction of the sector.
Wool Impact, a collaboration between the Government and sheep sector partners, is reinstating and catalysing demand and value for New Zealand’s strong wool and wool growers. The sector has the potential to once again be a leader in its traditional market niches and to develop entirely new product categories targeted at those searching for natural, healthy and sustainable alternatives.
The Lever Room delivered a Wool Transformation Roadmap and five point implmentation plan to advance the sector towards long term sustainability.
