Virgin Unite: The B Team
Transformation Roadmap and Impact Reporting
The B Team is group of business leaders advocating for business practices more centered on humanity and climate. Prior to launching, Rebecca Mills and team were dedicated to strategy development, with Founders Sir Richard Branson, Jochen Zeitz and the Global Advisory Board she helped bring together.
The team (including John Fullerton, John Elkington, Jules Peck, Holly Dublin and Heerad Sabeti) built the impact strategy known as the ‘Plan B Agenda’ for the B Team.
Project Impact
Influence on Business Practices: The B Team has successfully influenced many companies to adopt more responsible business practices. They advocate for a "Plan B" for business, which includes a focus on transparency, environmental stewardship, human rights, and good governance. Many companies have joined the movement, committing to these principles and integrating them into their operations.
Policy Impact: The B Team has been instrumental in advocating for policy changes that support a more sustainable and equitable global economy. For example, they have pushed for greater corporate transparency and have supported initiatives like the disclosure of climate-related financial risks. Their work has contributed to the global conversation on how businesses can play a crucial role in addressing issues like climate change and inequality.
Global Initiatives: The B Team has launched several initiatives that have had a global impact. For instance, their "Net-Zero by 2050" campaign encourages businesses to commit to reducing their carbon emissions to net-zero by 2050. Many large corporations have signed on to this commitment, which has helped to mainstream the idea of net-zero emissions in the corporate world.
Leadership and Advocacy: The organization has provided a platform for business leaders to advocate for systemic change. By bringing together influential leaders from various industries, The B Team has amplified the message that businesses can and should be a force for good.
